2025. Collage on hand-bound kraft paper book.
A compilation of 99 faces from magazines, newspapers, and other paper ephemera I’ve been able to accrue. Includes celebrities, models, people from stock photos, politicians, athletes, etc. with an old school library check out slip in the front where you can write down how many you recognized. After putting it down for a few days, I found I only recognized 30, mostly politicians. It’s interesting to me who gets their face in the paper, and I wanted to include only things I had gotten for free from a variety of sources so my own bias towards certain spheres (i.e. the art world) had less influence on who appeared.
